I was very sad to get an email today about a fellow small art gallery and DIY store that will be closing May 31st. Paper Boat Gallery and Boutique, in Wisconsin, is a space I discovered about 4 years ago when they first opened. Matthew showed his work there and I would chat with Faythe the owner about "business stuff". It was great to have a friend that owned a very similar space to ours, showed similar artists and had the same vibe going on. She is closing her doors because of the hard economic times. I'd just like to put a shout out there that we'll miss them in our DIY community and wish them the best in their future endeavors!
Also a small nudge that if you love handcrafted, local art, craft and design remember to support us as we keep the economy moving in our community and get to stock stuff you'd never see at the mall!
