Plush You! Interview with GEEKFREEKS

Plush You! is an annual exhibit in October that showcases plush creations from artists all over the globe - there are 5 venues throughout Seattle participating in this years event. We are excited to be one of those venues!!


So to get everyone familiar we are posting interviews and doing special giveaways with participating Bluebottle Plush You! artists.


What is your name and where are you located?
Geekfreeks are the husband and wife team of Karla Hansen and Alex Leighton,. We’re based in Auckland, New Zealand. It’s flippin freezing down here at the mo!





What are your favorite materials and why?
Polar fleece, felt and embroidery floss because they are snugly.




What are you excited about lately?
Alex: The new Pixar movie ‘Up’.
Karla: Having a holiday!! We’re going to America in July for 3 weeks!


Which super power would you prefer to have and why: the ability to fly or to be invisible?
Flying because it would be cool to fly through clouds!


What's your dream project?
Our dream project is really anything that involves our own imaginations and ideas! Basically having creative freedom!




What did you do last Saturday afternoon?

Alex: I was at work making cartoons
Karla: I was at work making tattoos
