Amy Hevron grew up in the suburbs of Dallas, Texas and knew from an early age that she wanted to be an artist. She attended Southwest Texas State University in San Marcos and in 1997 received a BFA in Graphic Design with a focus in Illustration. Since graduating she has worked as a designer and began exhibiting her artwork in Seattle in 2004.

Amy draws on inspiration from plants and animals. Much of her artwork incorporates a sense of storytelling, showcasing quirky characters ranging from monkeys to astronauts to American presidents. She is also inspired by the work of Richard Scarry, Kate Greenaway, Beatrix Potter, Henri Toulouse-Lautrec and Pablo Picasso. This is a collection of portraits of the plants and animals she loves.
