Available online at cakespyshop.com and at various shops and galleries, including Venue, 5408 22nd Ave. N.W., and Bluebottle Art Gallery and Store, 415 E. Pine St.): Seattle artist Jessie Oleson creates original, delightfully arch paintings featuring anthropomorphic baked goods, as well as merchandise such as stationery and pins featuring her work. Her appetizing illustrations range from hilarious to sweet (consider "The Talk," a comic strip where a cupcake learns the facts of life via a recipe book), and she also does custom paintings (holiday orders taken through Dec. 10). Past custom requests, she said, have included cupcake-and-pet portraits, watercolor renditions of cakes that were meaningful in the recipients' lives and drawings of "horror movie-inspired cupcakes." Oleson also will be at the Urban Craft Uprising show (urbancraftuprising.com) Saturday and Sunday at Seattle Center.
