I just found out about this call for exhibitions today. This is a really lovely gallery in Columbia City, Seattle. My husband, Matthew has showcased his work here before and they are very professional and pay promptly (that's an important bit!)
Their sites also say that they rent out the space for events - $350 for 4 hours might be something to consider for a group show one night only event?
Below is the call:
Call for Exhibit Proposals
The Columbia City Gallery is currently accepting proposals for its Guest Gallery for 2009/2010. In addition to exhibits of member artists, the gallery has a dedicated space for our Guest Gallery. We host six Guest Gallery Exhibits per year; each exhibit runs for six weeks in conjunction with a member exhibit. If you are interested in curating or having an exhibit in the Guest Gallery, download an Information Sheet and Proposal Form at http://columbiacitygallery.com/about.html
Proposals must be received by November 2, 2008 at 5pm. For more information, contact Kathy Fowells:art@ColumbiaCityGallery.com or 206.760.9843.
Please feel free to pass this on to anybody that may be interested. This is a unique opportunity for a budding curator to present an art exhibition in a thriving visual arts gallery.
